Ethics and social responsibility in judicial processes and their application in artificial intelligence
Abstract
The present article will address the introduction and influence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the legal and judicial field, specifically focusing on the ethical challenges that such implementation entails. We will start from the concept of AI as a complex and evolving process of autonomous information processing and decision-making, to the point of surpassing the capabilities of human intelligence itself.
Having demonstrated its effectiveness and applicability in various fields and human professions, its implementation in the legal sphere, especially in the procedural domain, has become an inevitable reality and evidence of the development of the fourth industrial revolution. However, today it raises significant questions regarding its ability to comprehend and apply judgments based on ethics and morality, essential considerations for making legal decisions oriented toward the common good and justice. Therefore, we will analyze the ethical and legal challenges posed by the implementation of AI in the judicial system, emphasizing the importance of ensuring transparency, quality, and accountability in AI decision-making processes.
