Digital communication as an educommunicative tool in high school students
Abstract
The objective of the study was to analyze the types and degree of use of digital communication as an educommunication tool by high school students of Milagro's private schools. The method used was quantitative under a descriptive, non-experimental, and cross-sectional approach. The technique used was the survey, the instrument was designed under the Likert scale and applied to students and teachers. The universe studied was constituted by 7 private educational institutions and the sample considered was the Santa Teresita Educational Unit with a total of 328 students and 30 teachers. The sample was non-probabilistic and was selected by the cluster based on a total of 100 students and 10 teachers of the educational unit of study. As a result, students achieved an elevated level of proficiency in digital communication. In relation to the administration and use of educommunicative tools, students demonstrate knowledge of management. Regarding the procedures and use of technology by teachers, the study found a high understanding of the management, interaction, use and application of ICT in a high percentage. The study concludes that there is an elevated level of use of digital communication as an educommunication tool in undergraduate programs of private educational institutions and that the most used media or communication channels are social networks and the virtual classroom, as well as infographics and slide presentations.
